Tiny Treasures of the New England Forests
I love visiting the New England woods after a rainfall. It’s a time for me to search for colorful mushrooms for my Mushroom Photos gallery. I love searching the damp forest where the tiny, the strange, and the beautiful mushrooms love to dwell. In this collection I’ve captured the hidden world we often walk right past: colorful caps peeking through the underbrush, delicate stems reaching out from mossy logs, and clusters of fungi that look like they belong in a fairy tale.
There’s something truly magical about mushrooms. I can walk the same trail day after day, not seeing a single mushroom for days— and then, after a rainfall, I spot something beautiful, a bright red cap glowing against green moss, or a cluster of tiny mushrooms waiting to be noticed . Some are bright and bold, others are tiny and delicate and muted in color. Each possess their own special beauty.
Slow Down, Look for the Unexpected Beauty Beneath Your Feet
I’ve spent countless hours wandering through woods, crouching down in the dirt, looking for the perfect angle to capture these uniquely beautiful mushrooms. Sometimes it’s the textures that catch my eye — the way light brushes across their gills, or the velvety surface of a cap.
My camera is just one of the tools that I use to create my art. I love to edit my photos, using various editing software applications- to bring to life a world of quiet, peace, and serenity.
This Mushroom Photos gallery is an exhibit of that quiet magic. It’s a place to slow down, look closer, and maybe see the forest a little differently.
